These workshops provide an extra opportunity to take the views from the 3 afternoon workshops and apply to them concretely to the issues below.

 

What are the issues and strategies developed in the SPAC, Environmental Justice, and Local action workshops that could be particularly useful for work undertaken in the following issue areas

- Agriculture and Biodiversity (Mrs. Olivera Radovanovic, Green Network of Voijvodina, Serbia and Mr. Oleg Tsaruk, Ecocentre Biostan, Uzbekistan)

Goal: To develop an NGO response to the newly emerging WSSD Type II partnerships.

Questions for discussion:

- What are the views of the participants in relation to the role of corporations as partners in Sustainable Development Policy making

- What are the views of the participants in relation to mechanisms to safeguard community rights, related to Multi-stakeholder partnerships and public policy.

- What are the expected impacts of these partnerships, also in relation to a retrenching government.

- Where do civil society partnerships fit into the WSSD process.

- How can local community groups be assured of proper levels of participation.
